CONGRATULATIONS to our Isle of Barra as they won the Community Award for Scotland in the Federation of Small Business Awards. Running a shop like Bùth Bharraigh is a community effort and they are very grateful to everyone who volunteers and works with them. After this year, it is important to celebrate all of their successes as it is this that gives them the motivation to drive the business forward to the next stage.

UPDATE (December 24, 2020) Isle of Barra was successful in completing their first crocheted Christmas Tree in 2019. The world-wide support they have had is amazing! Even though Christmas here and will be gone soon, do not fret if you missed out sending your square(s). Barra is going to do another two trees in the next few years so they will have a beautiful set of three. Please keep sending your squares to support their tree(s). Also, do not forget if you have ever visited Barra or Vatersay, you can still support our Bunting Flag Project. If you plan to attend the Clan Macneil Gathering in August 2022 (see Gathering page) then you can make your square and take with you instead. UPDATE (December 24, 2020) on Barra’s Whisky Disillery: With all the chaos and uncertainty surrounding Brexit, it was decided to pause the crowdfunder until there was clarity as to whether there is going to be no Brexit, hard Brexit or semi Brexit. As of today, Britain and the European Union reached a landmark trade agreement on Brexit after 11 months of negotiations and just a week before a year-end deadline. Stay tune as to when the crowdfunder will go live again!
